• I'm an English and History double major and it is absolutely amazing! I couldn't see myself majoring in either subject anywhere else!!!
• Professors truly love and know their subjects, we have a range of knowledgeable professors in every subject. From Shakespeare to Southern Studies in the English department, Asian wars and culture to Women and their contribution throughout history in the History Department, to plants and vertebrates in the Biology department. We truly have a well rounded staff of professors that are passionate about their subjects.
• The classes remain small, so instruction stays personal; it's terribly difficult to go unnoticed in class. The professors are approachable and are there to teach, not to publish work or research, so a student is never brushed off or ignored. The general education curriculum is wide ranging and gives each student plenty of experience before deciding on a major. The workload is strenuous, but not overbearing unless one's schedule is arranged in a stressful manner (i.e. too many classes).
• In any department of my college, one will find that most, if not all, instructors are doctors in their field. They are very knowledgeable in their subjects and very open for discussion. I never meet an obstacle when in need to converse on work or if I have questions on careers. My campus is fairly small and all of my professors know my name.
• The teachers are great. They push me to work hard and expect me to do well. The department has limited resources but is creative enough to make the best out of what we have.
• The registration process is always stressful because some classes fill up fast. Professors are great and always willing to help students. The workload is about average for college. Study abroad is very popular and has lots of options for students to travel to other countries.
• There is a very good elementary education program. Students spend lots of time in the field and in the classroom. Professors are also very willing to help students to become better teachers
• Building Relationships – As a small school PC students are dependent on the relationships they are able to make with their professors. Professors are very open to helping students after classes and are understanding of other obligations that PC students may have, including sports, Greek life, or other organizations.
• Academic Challenging – Academics are at the forefront of PC with very good and well educated professors. Due to size of school, there is some limitations to variety and due to general requirements, you have to make time for these classes. Professors are very helpful and accessible.
• Connect to Real World – PC connects to real world through promoting internships during school year and summer. Seminars are conducted and the career office is often sending out information pieces about opportunities. Many of the porfessors have contacts and alumni remain close to school and past professors.*(5)
