- Academic Experience: I just finished my pre-requisites and have been accepted to the nursing program. It was a very long and frustrating, yet rewarding journey. There is a waiting list for the nursing program so I did have to wait an entire semester and summer break to finally get in but the way I felt, the accomplishment that I encountered made everything worth it. I am currently attending all my orientations and while it is time consuming, I love learning about the hospital I will be attending clinicals and what I will be doing for the next two years, it is amazing and oh so rewarding. There is going to be a huge amount of work to be done which is perfectly ok since I am in the business of saving lives, I need to know how to do it right. The facilities are great! We have everything that we need to learn what we should know and we have plenty of resources to help us through the process. We even have the option to buy used scrubs for a very low price.
- Academic Experience: As I said before, I came from a CA college and the reason I did so was to come to this college. I feel there are more opportunities to succeed here and the competition is manageable. I have had memorable professors who taught curriculum in a way I have never been taught before and I don't have any complaints. We have flip classes which are really neat where we go to class to do homework and we watch lectures and do tests online. It seems like this school tries hard to spice up our college experience and they do a pretty fantastic job at it. Class registration is really easy and we have counselors who are happy to help us if we do run into any obstacles. There are quite a few associate programs including my nursing program, dental hygiene and I think I saw a mechanics program along with so many others I can't even think of right now. Many options to choose from.
- Academic Experience: Some courses you may be applying for will say your not qualified yet but if you call them, sometimes they have to unlock certain classes you are trying to register for. I don't understand their way of process but I deal with it. Signing up for classes can be quite annoying because the search bar is quite sensitive.
- Campus Resources: The resources at the school are pretty good, it is a smaller campus so maybe not as many resources as some of the larger colleges. We don't really have an athletic center that I know of, we do have a little gym with treadmills a select few weight machines we are allowed to use. The library is one of my favorite places to visit. It has very friendly staff and a pleasant and lit up environment. The campus for the most part is clean and we have workers constantly upgrading and maintaining the grounds. There are some campus activities once in awhile and they are pretty attractive. Free food, games, prizes, dancing... it catches attention. Over all I really enjoy what resources we have.
- Campus Resources: We recently had a gym open up but I never see anyone using it. The student center does the best they can but usually refer me to the main campus for answers. The advisers here are really rude and do not like to help with anything really. An adviser told me to figure out how to register for classes when It was my first time in college and another adviser cared more about me paying money to take the compass test even though I was told my next try was free. The campus activities are pretty nice and enjoyable. There are no sports teams that I know of so it sucks.
- Student Body: The students at MCC are great! We have all different ethnic groups and everybody seems to get along well. Students come to school in cars ranging from BMW to little Ford Escorts but that is never an issue with making friends or studying together. Not much notice is given to religion or sexual orientation, we all have our opinions and beliefs and we are all accepted for them. It is a great school and I personally feel very welcome and comfortable attending MCC.*(4)
