    • My program is very specific and is a high work load. Most everything I need is at school, somethings I have to go outside of the campus. I have to keep a high GPA to be in my program and it takes a lot of focus and work.
    • Anyone who goes to Westminster has to be serious about study. If a person is going to go to socialize and party, they should go to Slippery Rock.
    • Professors are accessible. Class work is strenuous, byt, hey, this is college!! I'm here to learn and there is a lot of help available....teachers, advisors, library, etc.
    • Instructors are helpful and accessiblr. Classes are smaller and help in the learning process.
    • It's a strong school. There's a lot of work, but it's manageable.
    • I am a psychology major. This department is like a family to me. There is no "Easy" professor in the psych department. Overall the psychology faculty is like a grab bag of many different talents. We have a social psychologist, a professor who studies mainly emotion and is good at statistics. We have a Neuroscience professor who does alcohol studies, we have a professor who does child development..essentially any psychological interest of research is covered...Our department consistently puts out good research, and it's because the professors push us to be good researchers or clinicians. They expect a certain calibur of work, and the students rise to meet it. The professors are also like mentors and treat you like an up-and-coming colleague rather than a student who is "below" them. It's very awesome. I'm happy with my major.
    • The academics at Westminster are fantastic. They are by no means easy, and regardless of major, you are well prepared for life after college. The professors allow you to build rapport with them, and they actually care. Within my 4 years here, my department has become like a family. The professors are tough enough to teach me. They treat me more like an up-and-coming colleague than a student who is "below" them. There is concern that you actually learn here. And it's great. I have learned how to work and how to be successful.
    • So far I love my major, I'm an Accounting major with a French minor. The classes are all set out for your major at the beginning of the year to tell you what classes you should plan to take and when. I've had the best instructor who knows exactly what he is talking about and will help when it comes to writing recommendation letters. There is the Career Center to help you find internships and possible job opportunities though mainly they come from the internships. Also, the internships seem to come from all over the place as we have been told that they can from people that we talk to and have even worked for before! Personal connections are very helpful as well, even a friend of a friend could know someone or be someone to help.
    • The great thing about Westminster is the broad classes that we can choose from. While we are required to take certain IPs out of our major it's a great opportunity and it allows us to expand our knowledge. All of my professors have been great, they will usually answer any questions that you have or if you have a concern they will talk with you. They readily post their office hours. The workload varies based on the professor but they do have to have the same requirements for most of the curriculum. There are many study abroad options that are given throughout the year and students that have went are open to talk about them and they usually do! Many of the popular study areas on campus are in the library and sometimes even in Berlin Lounge.
    • Always Willing to Help Those Who Seek It – Professors are always willing to be of help to those who ask for it. If a student is not available during a professor's office hours, they are flexible in scheduling a good time for both. The curriculum is usually challenging, and the workload is often heavy, but in the end, students come away with a good understanding of the topic. The registration process is fairly simple. It's not always guaranteed that everyone gets the classes they need/want since it is based upon first-come-first-serve by class status. Advisers are best to consult when preparing to register, as they understand what courses you will need to take and when to schedule them. *(5)
