• Student Body: Many students at Wallace are like me; they have a passion about something, but needed a little guidance and wanted to take their basics at a lower price before transferring to a 4-year institution. A great majority of my peers either went to my high school or to one nearby. There are also a lot of adults that attend Wallace- most of them are there for nursing or a technical degree. I've really only interacted with the people in the music department. They're all really friendly, but outside of our love for music, we don't have much in common.
• The majority of people I interacted with at WCC were either White, Black, or Biracial; Middle Class; Conservative; Christian; and either Heterosexual or Bi-curious.
• Campus Resources: My World Literature I final was in a computer lab- the network shut down in the middle of it and we had to reboot computers. This is a completely normal thing. Good luck logging into the WiFi anywhere on campus. Some of my professors have to go into another professor's office for their laptops to work.If the network is functioning properly, the computers in the Math Building and the CAS worked great.
• Campus Resources: I never used the library or any of the athletic centers. I did use the new computer lab; it was quiet like the library, but casual (unlike the library). The computers were brand new and it was a great place to get work done.There is also has an open piano lab that I lived in.Wallace has a growing reputation for it's excellent music department. Having our own building, or even just some practice rooms would make the world a much happier place.
• Campus Quality: What makes Wallace excellent and special for me were my music professors. These people truly went above and beyond for me and others like me. They really care for me and I am extraordinarily fortunate for the time I got to study under them.
• Academic Experience: I'm a Music Ed major and Wallace is the best for a Community College. All of our music classes are accredited and will transfer to my chosen 4 year institution. We have classes for my chosen major that aren't offered at any other Community College in the state. The music teachers are the absolute best, all of them!
• Academic Experience: Nursing is very big at Wallace. It is probably one of the best schools to go to for nursing. There is state of the art live dummies to work on. The school also works with the two hospitals in Dothan to give the students hands on experience. I love the teachers as well. They are very professional as well as understanding. It is a good school to go to get a nursing degree.*(4)
