- The College of Business and Management has an excellent Faculty comprised of professors that encourage open minded learning of core concepts and practical application of those concepts in a real world environment. The instructors all have real world business experience, and are able to convey that experience to the students in an informative and structured manner. As an online student, as well as someone who brings a number of years of business experience to the classroom myself, I can genuinely appreciate the knowledge and experience of the Faculty.
- The academics are nice. UIS is a very science and psychology oriented school. I am currently an MIS major and UIS seems to be the school for me.
- The university has very few teaching assistants. All of my professors are very knowledgeable and are able to teach their specialty extremely well. The college really pushes the students to be independent by taking charge of their classes and registration for them online.
- Legal studies is a hard major at any school, but UIS has many offices to help with the major.
- The honors program is not easy to get into but gives students the best education possible.
- Global Studies at UIS is one of the newer majors. This particular program allows one to learn about cultures around the world and to focus on many different aspects of international relations. The work load is about average for college courses. The professors are always willing to help you, so long as you ask. There are many internships available through the program, and if you need help finding one, an adviser is always willing to help.
- Our school is known for the accounting major but getting any degree at our school would pretty much be excellent.
