• Campus Resources: The library at Danville Area Community College has been one of my favorite places to study. It is nearly always quiet, but if they have some sort of event or gathering inside of the library they are almost always understanding of other students and try to keep their noise level down. You can stay inside the library as long as you want, providing it is during open hours. The staff is always helpful with trying to find books or with new students who are unsure of the layout of the library and are in need of assistance. The library institutes a limit of 10 pages printed for students who access a computer inside the library, and this in efforts to minimize noise and limit the amount of paper used, which promotes a "greener" environment of less wasted paper. Overall the campus is very clean and very well maintained. The buildings themselves are not awe-inspiring or groundbreaking, but they do promote a very quaint and peaceful feeling that has oftentimes helped me out when I was a newer student who was nervous about the classes that lay ahead of me. There are a plethora of activities that the college offers, and a schedule is shown right on their front page of their website. Nearly everyday there is something going on, and sometimes I've even caught myself watching or participating with on-campus activities that I spot while walking to and from my classes after finding myself enthralled by curiosity of what was going on before me.
• Student Body: There is some diversity in the student body at Danville Area Community College. Most of the diversity comes from ethnicity and maybe less so background. I say this because most students that attend DACC come from families that typically are not well off financially and DACC offers them the opportunity to go to college and obtain a degree. A typical student from my school would be one that isn't extremely focused on making friends while at DACC but is not opposed to to idea or against talking to a peer before, during or after classes. This student would likely be trying to get general education classes out of the way in efforts to transfer to a four year university and obtain their bachelors degree. Some students come from farming communities and others are from inside the city of Danville, but I've not met anyone who thought less of me for my background and I didn't feel that way of anyone else. Overall, interactions with other students has been very friendly, though typically brief as each student is on their way to another class or to get to their car to go back home.
• Campus Resources: For a community college I believe Danville does the best to offer what they can and I am proud to be a student there.
• Campus Resources: I'm able to access pretty much anything I may need while there on campus and they have great time schedules for people to be able to get what they need in a timely manner.*(4)
