ESSAY在MBA申请中的重要性，不言而喻，这几乎已是一个共识。GMAT与ESSAY孰轻孰重，目前尚存争议——许多中介会更推崇GMAT，但有鉴于中介唬人的一惯尿性，不能作数。这里说明一下GMAT：
因为中国学生善于考试，GMAT普遍较高，而美国学校录取的时候，大多属时候又是将中国学生和中国学生一块对比，因此对中国学生而言，GMAT成绩是无法用学校官网公布的平均数据来衡量的。
一般说来的话有以下数据：

*部分顶级商学院的托福要求高于100分，如哈佛要求有109分，但同样排名第一的斯坦福只要求有100分。
注意：这张表不是绝对的。 就GMAT而言，考分高于730可以不用考了；680-730之间相对较稳；低于650，建议重考，或者在其它地方补偿；低于600，老实重考吧。
