在申请maryland时，有一个材料这么要求：Please include a 300-500 word two-part statement of your (1) goals and research interests and (2) experiences. Part 1 should be a realistic and well-informed statement of your study plans. This statement is the basis on which a faculty member will support your admission as initial advisor. There must be a close match between individual faculty research specializations and your interests. Part 2 might include how you became interested in the field of geography, your community and family background, or any other factors that you feel would contribute to the diversity of our academic community. Include examples of your determination to pursue your goals, and your initiative and ability to develop ideas and work through problems independently.

SOP没有另作要求。。感觉两个文书难以避免有重复内容。。。SOP已经写好，这一篇supplement该怎么写。。

@leonardz　我觉得这个重点应该是在第二部分上，有点像UC系统的PHS，但又有区别。

SOP的重点可能在：1）你的career goals and research interests;2)你的科研经历，以及你是如何胜任这个领域的。重点在展示你科研能力和潜力上。

这个PS（如果一定要区分的话，可以把这个叫PS）的重点，应该是第二部分，有点像是说你是如何对领域感兴趣的，重点在这个“如何”上面，还扯到了“diversity”上。

@leonardz　这个不应该是你理解的那样，就是单纯在问你，你用过的电脑（Mac、Pad、PC）和操作系统（windows、iOS、Linux）及其熟练程度，可能就是顺道做一个调查，为将来升级自己的网申系统做准备。"computers"、"operating systems"都是复数，不应该是你理解的那样。

这个问题只针对计算机专业申请，它下面的问题就是问参加过的计算机课程。。。感觉挺奇怪的
